This data represents detailed tree canopy cover in Fairfax County, Virginia. The data was derived from the 2021 Land Cover raster dataset which used remote sensing technologies on aerial imagery from the National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP), flown in 2021 and filtered by the tree attribute and converted to polygons. The land cover data was procured through a Tree Planting and Preservation Fund (TPPF) grant given by the County to Casey Trees. Casey Trees contracted with PlantIT Geo to perform the analysis.
